1871C. Until I know the name of his father, have no clues to try to locate him - London Mddx is so vague! Vague possibility Denham Bucks- around Eton, aged 16, apprentice compositor & printer? b. Battersea Mddx
Have not found his marriage to Kate- likely 1872 as both so young. There is a Kathleen Digby Blagrave marries a Charles Turner Sep 1872 - a possibility! , but likely not , as have found her in 1871C, b. Somerset to a wealthy family!
1872. An Ellen Harriett Turner was born, Windsor, Sep 1872, but this not our Harriett. Have bought this b.c. and parents were John & Caroline. Also have found this Ellen Harriett Turner now in the 1881C with these parents.
It seems that the birth of daughter, Harriett Turner, was not registered. But she was maybe registered under her mother's maiden name, as Charles has not legally married the mother.
1878. A Charles Turner was born 15/11/1878 to a Catherine Turner, no father given, in the Union Workhouse Chatham. I am almost 100% sure that this Charles Turner is the one who appears with Harriett's family in the 1881C shown below. In which case, Charles & Kate were not married. But was Catharine just using the Turner surname for respectability! or was she born as Catharine Turner???- less likely the latter.

1891C. Cannot find Charles nor his son Charles after numerous searches in FMP & in Ancestry . There is a Charles L Turner, 34, b. Mddx, English concertina.. warehouseman, in St Pancras who had married Elizabeth Little in 1882 and had 4 children with her. Could he be the same Charles & have deserted Kate? - Ancestry tree Turner Calnan, 'cos the owner has Harriett also being his daughter by Kate !! - contacted him 26/7/2014- no answer!. Charles L Turner baptised to Charles Henry Turner & Harriett Martin Moore in 1856 Westminster. Tree goes further back on the Turners from Norfolk. This Charles 1856 has no occupation in the 1871C in St George the Martyr. Also cannot find Kate Turner
1901C. Cannot find Kate Turner in 1901C. Nor Charles 1879, b. Kent- though he could well be the Charles Joseph Turner in Lewes gaol! . Nor another - other than Charles L Turner - Charles b.1854-1856
