1875. His wife died on 28/2/1875 : he was found guilty of maltreating her, and received 4 months in prison, his pension being suspended during this time . Long articles in the local press on her suffering. Even his daughter gave witness in court. Neighbours said Mrs Heaney was very frightend, like a skeleton, and repeatedly said her husband wanted to kill her with a knifem and that she was suffering from an internal tumour.

I cannot find him in the 1881C, 1891C etc :Nor have I found a likely, sensible death . I feel he would likely have emigrated abroad or went to Scotlamd . Search for this
