"Lucy moved with my Aunt Cynthia , mother’s younger sister , to live in York Cottage Kenton in Devon after her husband died . I have memories of a rather strict disciplinarian of the old school when we went to stay at her house . When she started to dement she and Auny Cyn moved to live next to mother’s house at the Green , Kirkbymoorside. Granny lived for several years in a home for demented people ; I went to see her once but she did not know me . Aunt Cyn developed carcinoma of the breast and mother nursed her in the Green until she died- Ryedale 8/3/1986: probate <£40000 . She was in the WAF in the second war and though she never talked about it we think a boyfriend pilot was killed ; she never married . It was my mother’s parents who had a home in Hawick but I am unsure if they moved there from Dewsbury"- Nigel
