~1822-4. James Jones is born Ludlow to a John Jones, a mason, and ?? No baptism on FMP nor on IGI . The only John Jones I can find near Ludlow in 1841C is an ag. labourer, not a mason . So cannot get further back with his family. Have also searched for Naomi Jones in the 1841C - she being a witness on the 1842m.c. - but now feel she was likely a sister-in-law of his wife.
1841C. He may well be living, aged 15 [ this actually 15-19 as ages rounded down this census] , in Disserth, Builth, no job stated, not born Radnorshire, a lodger with the Bowen family, Thomas Bowen 40 a wheelwright.
1842. James Jones marries Mary Jones, she born Disserth, Radnorshire -probably 8 m NE of Builth Wells - both a St. Marys Church Disserth/Bettws & St Cewydd church here - , on 19/7/1842 in Disserth Church., in the Builth Union . Both of full age, he a mason, both residing Cwmbronog, his father John Jones, mason, hers John Jones labourer. He could not write, not sure whether she could, but one witness John Jones maybe could , whereas the other witness, Naomi Jones, could not. Could get a photo of the church - but seem to be 2 churches there- St Marys and St Cewydd??. Have found Bettws in 1889 Ordnance survey - Old maps- but Cwmbronog is not on it, nor can I see a church, just Bettws Cottage . St Marys church is shown on a modern map . Naomi Jones is likely a sister-in-law I feel - a John & Naomi Jones had a child in Disserth in 1844: John Jones married a Naomi Lewis Jun 1842 Builth Wells . There is an Ancestry public tree for Naomi, just says her husband's parents were John & Mary & that John was born ~1820!. Seemingly no father John Jones b~1796 , mason, living in Ludlow in 1841C - but he could well be living somewhere else!
He starts his married life in Disserth, then is in Shropshire by 1845, Cleobury Mortimer then Bridgnorth 1846 , then Astley Abbotts by 1850

1858. Sarah Jones is born Cotes Heath, Staffs - reg. district Stone . From Donaldbrown Ancestry public tree Sarah Jones was born 10/7/1858 , died 3/4/1920? - but he has no parents for her .Probably Harry Thompson 1880 married one of his ancestors

If he really were of Full age when he married in July 1842 he must have been born at April-July of 1821! - then only 19 in 1841C, but just 21 when he married!. But then all his census ages are untrue!!
