Born Tortworth, Thornbury, Glocs. to a farm labourer. Married a farm labourer who made good as a Timber merchant in St Albans
1827. Mary Cove was born to John Cove & Mary Brown . Maybe aptised 30/9/1827 in Woodchester ~4 k SSW of Stroud : this some way NE of Tortworth !!??- so not convinced this is her baptism. BUT, John Cove & Mary Brown married in Tortworth so seems reasonable to assume Mary 1828, born Tortworth in several censuses is their daughter . And no Coves around Woodchester, so maybe one of herparents had relatives there around 1827: also an Ann Cove baptised to the same parents there in 1829.
