1921C. Could not find Henry nor Florence under a name search. But then, using the Address search, at 58 Hardwicke Street, we have Henry J, Florence, Annie F & 5 others. (problems with their name indexing in FMP ??), Finally found Ernest R Bridget!, 1, with Henry J & Florence and 5 others!!- so either a transcription or an enumerator problem!!

1926 was living 112 Axe Street( also a William Albert Tilley there) - Electoral registers FMP

Florence used to play the piano and worked in night clubs.  I believe she used to drink, apparently it ran in the family !!

1926-1929 . Henry Brigden worked for Mitchelin tyres and went with the company to Stoke on Trent. . They had lived in a slum in Barking, whereas the house in Stoke had a bathroom & garden. Their son, Harry, was at sea, Floss, Bill & John stayed in Barking.Bill took over running the Longbridge Road fish shop from Tilley (don’t know which one). Floss & husband Bert went into partnership with Bill

family

The family taken in the back garden of their Stoke on Trent house the day before she died.
Bill, Pop, Floss holding Gwen, Harry at back, Flora, Peggy, Jessie behind Ernie, Bert (Floss’s husband) John

1929. Florence Brigden,44, died Stoke T. Sep 1929. Florence died in hospital having their 9th child, the baby died too. (Ernie & Peggy were on a school trip?  so my notes say) I guess Jessie looked after Gwen, who was only 3

After she died, Henry had an accident & his money went down.  So he, Ernie, Peggy and Gwen came back to live over the fish shop in Longbridge Road. Sister Jessie had married Tom in Stoke and they came back too.

Bill later bought another fish shop in ElmPark and Bert ran the Longbridge shop.  Dad worked there from the age of 14 & later took that one over, working therte till he retired aged 64.  The family also owned shoe shops and other family members & wives worked in them.

. Henry & children are back living in Barking in the 1939 Register without her, so assume she dies 1921=1939, and no other deaths for her in that time period
