1799 . Robert Cooper marries Elspet Robertson on 30/11/1799 at Banchory Devenick- this just 2k S of Aberdeen . SP, will only have their names on it, so not purchased
They had the following children in Old Machar: James 1805; Robert 1813 ; George 1817 &
1808. John Cooper is born to Robert & Catherine/Elspet on 26/5/1808 in Old Machar, Aberdeen - SP , not purchased but says Elspet: but on his 1881d.c. it gives his mother as Catherine!
1841C. A Robert Cooper, 50, farmer, & Elspet Cooper, 50, were living Trundship Farm, Old Machar, Aberdeen -Unlikely, ages too young!!, but could be a mistranscription/bad writing: could it be 70?? Ancestry has 50 as well.

She could die 1866, aged 94- thus born ~1772- Methlick- this at least 40 k NW of Aberdeen!!
1864. An Elspet Cooper, nee Robertson, 62, died St Nicholas- but this much too young to be our Elspet or the one in 1851C - she could be an unmarried daughter of Robert & Elspet!! or 1805 James' wife:. such a couple in 1851C, but James born Skene- this 10 k W of Aberdeen !Same couple in 1861C, James, crofter, b. Old Deer.- this up near Peterhead!
The Elspet Cooper, 80, who dies in Fetteresso in 1857- thus born ~1777, ; I purchased this dc and her father was George Napier, mother Cooper . But just says 'widow' , not giving her husband . So, can rule out that this is our Elspet as her father not a Robertson.
